About this pool
Aldersey Pool is one of the clubs newer acquisitions set alongside Aldersey Golf Club. An old established lake with a feeder stream flowing right through it keeps this water fresh and the fish lively. This is a rather pleasant lake to fish and it’s location means that you have a good chance of the lake to yourself. There are no platforms here so you can fish where you like, apart from the lawn area of the house and the roped off section opposite it. There are quite a few features here including reeds and overhanging trees, but take care when fishing towards the snags.

Directions to Aldersey Pool from Tarporley

Aldersey Pool, Alderey Lane, Tattenhall.
Nearest Postcode is Pool House CH3 9EH.

Proceed from the High Street in the direction of Nantwich and turn left onto the A51 to Four Lanes End, turn right onto the A49 towards Whitchurch and proceed for 4 miles on the A49 through Beeston Brook, Bunbury Heath and Spurstow to Ridley. Turn right onto the A534 Wrexham Road and proceed for 4 miles to Broxton roundabout, turn right towards Chester and proceed for 2 miles to Handley and turn left onto Whitchurch Road, Handley. Turn left into Aldersey Lane just before the public house and proceed for about 1 mile turning sharp left at the Green farm, the pool can be seen on the left hand side of the road.

It is also possible to go via Birch Heath Road, Tarporley to Huxley and then Tattenhall on the A41, at Hatton heath turn left towards Whitchurch and proceed 1.5 miles. Turn right into Whitchurch Road, Handley, take the first turning right into Aldersey Lane after the public house.

 

Please Note: Parking is limited, so park with consideration along the side the lake on the road. Do not fish outside of the marker posts and respect the privacy of the residents in the property adjoining the lake.
